At Huon Aquaculture, our supply chain plays a critical role in delivering high-quality product to customers across Australia and global markets. From planning and harvest through to processing, sales and logistics, our teams work closely together to balance biological realities, operational capability and customer commitments.

We’re looking for a Supply Planner to join our Supply Chain team — a role that sits at the centre of the operation, connecting data, planning and people to keep product flowing smoothly.

The opportunity

As the Supply Planner, you’ll translate demand forecasts into practical supply and production plans. You’ll work across planning, harvest, processing and sales to ensure product availability while managing lead times, capacity constraints and changing conditions.

This is a hands-on role where strong judgement, clear communication and data-led planning are key.

What you’ll be doing

  • Work closely with Planning and Harvest teams to stay across changes to forecast fish weights, sizes and growth rates, updating plans as conditions change
  • Share clear and timely sizing and volume forecasts with Export and Wholesale Sales teams to support sales planning and customer commitments
  • Use historical data and sales trends to forecast harvest volumes and channel splits, continuously improving forecast accuracy
  • Prepare weekly and daily harvest and processing forecasts, including expected fish numbers, overharvests and supply risks
  • Monitor processing capacity and throughput, adjusting plans to meet factory capabilities, transport cut-off times and customer deadlines
  • Support day-to-day processing operations by managing sizing priorities and responding to delays or breakdowns
  • Identify and communicate risks such as shortages, excess stock or harvest delays, working with stakeholders to put recovery plans in place
  • Make practical, commercial decisions to maximise fish utilisation across all channels while balancing operational limitations
  • Drive continuous improvement by optimising planning parameters, enhancing automation and developing reporting tools

To be successful, you’ll bring

  • The ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Confidence acting as a central point of coordination across the business
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Innova, Oracle or similar) for supply and production planning
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis capability, including modelling and scenario planning
  • A strong understanding of supply chain principles, lead times and capacity planning
  • Clear, confident communication skills and a collaborative working style
  • A tertiary qualification in Planning (or similar), or 2–4 years’ experience in supply or production planning within a complex supply chain environment

When you join Huon, you’ll enjoy:

  • Discounts on our premium, sustainably farmed salmon — enjoy the best salmon in the world at home
  • Ongoing training and development, with opportunities to grow your leadership capability and career
  • Discounted health insurance and access to wellbeing benefits
  • Retail and lifestyle discounts across a wide range of everyday shopping
  • The chance to make a real impact in a future-focused, values-driven business
