Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Marine Safety Advisor to join our Marine Operations team. With a background in the marine industry, you will support the management of HSE activities and provide continuous advice and support to managers, supervisors, and employees to ensure that vessel operations are conducted in accordance with our requirements. This role is focused on Huon’s larger ships and barges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee compliance for Huon’s fleet of vessels.
• Work with vessel crews to identify and address safety issues onboard.
• Document and track outstanding issues and maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders within the company to ensure marine compliance across a large fleet of complex vessels.

About You:

• Background in marine or mechanical marine fields.
• Experience in marine compliance is desirable.
• Proficient in computer use, data entry, and document/record keeping.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong project management skills.
• Ideally, you are currently working in a WHS or Marine Operations role and/or have a Master 5/Skipper qualification.
