Are you passionate about quality, food safety, and continuous improvement? We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Improvement Coordinator to play a key role in maintaining the highest standards across our operations.
In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with both Quality Assurance and Production teams, helping to ensure our products meet quality, compliance, and food safety requirements. You'll have the opportunity to influence best practice, drive improvements, and help foster a strong food safety culture throughout the site.
Role commencing from November.
What You'll Be Doing
As our Quality Improvement Coordinator, you will:
- Conduct factory inspections, including temperature checks, documentation reviews, packaging verification, traceability assessments, and hygiene inspections.
- Perform product and water testing, monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs), and accurately record and analyse results.
- Maintain, calibrate, and verify laboratory equipment to ensure testing accuracy.
- Conduct GMP and internal audits, prepare reports, and follow up corrective actions.
- Coordinate hygiene swabbing, water and product testing programs, and facilitate hygiene meetings.
- Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Provide training, coaching, and guidance to production teams on quality and food safety requirements.
- Maintain quality records, HACCP documentation, and Quality Management System requirements.
- Support the QA Manager and Production teams through inspections, reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Champion Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and a strong food safety culture across the site.
What You'll Bring
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in Quality Assurance, food manufacturing, or a similar environment (preferred).
- Sound knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety management systems.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills.
- Confidence conducting inspections, audits, sampling, and testing activities.
- Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and resolve quality issues.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train, coach, and influence others.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to follow through on corrective actions.
- The ability to build positive working relationships across Quality Assurance and Production teams.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
- A genuine commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and process improvement.
- A strong focus on safety, wellbeing, and behaviours aligned with Huon's values.
