An exciting opportunity for a Trade Assistant to join Huon’s Hideaway Bay team on a full-time basis!

The role

The Trade Assistant will undertake workshop-based repairs and maintenance of electronic feed equipment, environmental monitoring equipment, and camera systems. You will also:

• Work safely with 12-volt devices.
• Fault find and repair basic electrical circuitry.
• Use computer software to configure wireless networking and telemetry devices.
• Take stock audits and order parts for the feed workshop, maintaining required documentation.
• Assist with the training of staff in current and correct procedures for use of DVP equipment.

Reporting to the Fish Performance Manager, this position operates on a 4 days on, 3 days off, 3 days on 4 days off roster.

About you

• You have experience in electronic equipment servicing and troubleshooting.
• You have knowledge of basic electrical theory and reading schematics.
• You are confident using the Microsoft Office suite.
• You are an excellent communicator with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• You have a keen eye for detail and a proactive focus on continually looking to improve processes.
