Huon is seeking an exceptional Engineering Manager – Processing, to lead our maintenance and capital projects functions in our processing facilities.

As a critical member of our Processing Leadership Team, you’ll be responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of maintenance programs and capital projects, managing budgets in excess of $20 million, and leading a talented team of maintenance professionals.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee and optimise maintenance activities across sites, ensuring safety, compliance, and adherence to GMP and SOP’s.
  • Lead the strategic delivery of large-scale capital projects, including development and implementation of Capex proposals.
  • Manage the Repairs and Maintenance budget (approx. $2M) and ensure alignment with operational goals.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to Maintenance Managers, Supervisors and Planners, supporting 24/7 operations.
  • Develop, negotiate and manage contractor agreements and engineering service contracts.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through engagement with Operational Excellence initiatives.
  • Act as a key contributor to broader processing strategy, reporting directly to the General Manager – Processing.

Who you are:

  • A natural leader with 10+ years’ experience in engineering, trades, and operation management.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Trade Certification, with a strong foundation in technical leadership.
  • Proven track record in FMCG and manufacturing environments, with a deep understanding of GMP standards.
  • Highly developed problem solving and project management skills, adept at managing multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Strong business acumen with hands on experience in budgeting, and reporting and delivering capital projects. 
  • Effective communicator with exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, with expertise in producing technical documentation and Capex reports.
  • A deep commitment to safety, operational excellence, aligned with Huon’s values.
