We’re seeking a passionate and detailed focused Quality Improvement Coordinator to join our team and help ensure our Food Quality policies are not only met, but continuously improved.

About the Role

In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and driving high standards of food safety and quality by implementing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ensuring room task lists and guidelines are followed according to QA policies and procedures.

You will work closely with the production managers, supervisors, QA and QC teams members and production staff to promote a strong culture of safety, hygiene and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-operational hygiene and equipment checks in assigned areas
  • Perform calibration checks on metal detectors and scales
  • Carry out regular product, label, weight and packaging assessments
  • Complete fish rigor, temperature, gas testing and pest inspections
  • Undertake GMP walk-arounds, identify issues and escalate for corrective action
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in QC toolbox meetings
  • Monitor staff compliance with food safety, hygiene and PPE requirements
  • Assist with Corrective Action Report (CAR) closures
  • Promote and maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety  

About You

  • Previous experience in a production or food processing environment
  • Knowledge of OH&S practices and a strong focus on safety
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to plan and prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working both by yourself and part of a team
  • Flexible and adaptable to change with a commitment to continuous improvement
