The Role
We’re looking for a skilled Automotive Electrician to join our Maintenance team at Hideaway Bay. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems across Huon’s fleet of vessels, vehicles, plant, and equipment. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our operations run safely, reliably, and in line with industry standards. You will work on a 7 day on / 7 day off rotating roster allowing the ultimate work/life balance

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults across a wide range of assets.
• Perform installations, upgrades, and retrofits on machinery and fleet.
• Carry out preventative and scheduled maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Troubleshoot complex issues using diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Maintain accurate service records and compliance documentation.
• Support commissioning and fit-out of new equipment.
• Assist with workshop and field service tasks across land and marine sites.

About You 

We’re looking for someone who brings:

• Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (or equivalent).
• Proven experience with electrical systems in vehicles, marine vessels, and mobile plant.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret schematics and use diagnostic tools.
• Manual driver’s licence and willingness to travel to remote/marine locations.
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to safety.

Desirable Extras

• Experience in aquaculture, agriculture, or marine operations.
• Knowledge of marine DC systems (12V/24V/48V).
• Additional licences/tickets (e.g. Forklift, EWP, First Aid).
