Drive Sustainability at Huon Aquaculture – Join a Purpose-Led Team

Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and ready to make a real impact? Huon is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Sustainability Officer to help shape and deliver our sustainability strategy across diverse operations.

This is your opportunity to work in a dynamic, values-driven organisation where your work will directly support our commitment to responsible aquaculture and continuous improvement.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Environmental Compliance, you’ll coordinate sustainability initiatives across Huon’s operations, ensuring alignment with both regulatory and voluntary frameworks—including the JBS Global Sustainability Strategy. You’ll play a key role in embedding sustainability into operational and project planning, managing data governance, and communicating progress to internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and coordinate sustainability initiatives across energy, carbon, water, and waste.
  • Integrate sustainability planning into operational projects to ensure compliance and measurable outcomes.
  • Manage data governance and reporting to track performance and progress.
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships to support sustainability goals.
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities related to environmental and sustainability initiatives, including potential research projects.
  • Prepare internal and external reports to communicate outcomes and project proposals.
  • Support governance and compliance for environmental data and voluntary disclosures.

About You

You’re a motivated and collaborative professional with a strong commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement. You bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field (Environment, Science, Business) and previous experience working within a complex regulatory environment would be an advantage
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Why Join Huon?

  • Be part of a company committed to sustainability and innovation.
  • Work in a supportive, high-performing team environment.
  • Access professional development and wellbeing support.
  • Contribute to meaningful change in a leading aquaculture business.
