Leading Hand – Maintenance

Location – Parramatta I Employment - Type Full Time I Roster – 7/7

Are you a hands-on leader with a passion for machinery, preventative maintenance and mentoring teams? Huon is seeking a proactive and experienced leading hand to join our parramatta Creek Maintenance Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your career, working alongside a supportive Maintenance Manager and a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role

As Leading hand, you will play a key role in ensuring our processing machinery and equipment operate efficiently and safely. You’ll provide day to day guidance to the maintenance team, coordinate trades, repairs and preventative maintenance schedules and ensure all work is accurately recorded in the MEX system.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the 7/7 maintenance team, stepping up when the Maintenance Manager is unavailable
• Prioritise and guide daily maintenance tasks on the floor
• Ensure timely and safe completion of repairs and maintenance across plant, machinery and infrastructure
• Maintain accurate records in MEX and ensure compliance with QA and site requirements
• Identify preventative maintenance needs and minimise downtime due to breakdowns
• Uphold safety standards and contribute to a positive safety culture

About You

• Certificate III trade qualification
• Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role in a similar industry
• Strong working knowledge of the MEX maintenance and Five S Systems
• Current vehicle and forklift licences
• Ability to work safely in a dynamic environment and respond effectively to risks
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A collaborative mindset and a commitment to team success
