As leaders in sustainable aquaculture, we are constantly looking for better ways to improve performance, optimise processes and support our people to succeed.
We are now looking for an Operational Excellence Specialist to join our Ingleburn Processing team in a hands-on role focused on continuous improvement, operational stability and line optimisation.
This is not a desk-based improvement role. You will be out on the floor, working closely with production teams, identifying opportunities, solving problems and helping drive sustainable operational performance across the plant.
What you’ll be doing
- Support the implementation and sustainment of continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, yield and giveaway optimisation
- Review and simplify processes to improve standardisation, compliance and operational flow
- Conduct on-floor observations, troubleshoot operational issues and provide practical recommendations to improve line performance
- Support the development and sustainment of SOPs and standard ways of working
- Strengthen daily management systems including performance visibility, deviation tracking and follow-up actions
- Analyse operational data to identify trends, gaps and improvement opportunities
- Facilitate structured problem solving using Lean, PDCA and root cause analysis methodologies
- Support operational trials, process reviews and cost-saving initiatives across the plant
- Ensure improvement actions are documented, tracked and sustained beyond implementation
- Provide clear and concise reporting on operational performance and improvement progress
- Work collaboratively across Processing, QA, Engineering and WHS teams
About you
You are someone who enjoys being close to the operation, solving real problems and helping teams improve performance in practical ways.
You will bring:
- Qualifications in Food Science, Engineering, Science or equivalent operational experience within a processing environment
- Experience in FMCG, manufacturing or food processing environments
- Strong understanding of Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience working with automated processing lines and process controls
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes and support sustainable improvements
- A hands-on approach and confidence working directly with operational teams on the floor
- Experience developing SOPs, standardised processes and daily management systems
- Ability to analyse operational data and translate insights into practical actions
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams
- High standards of hygiene, safety and cleanliness
- Physical capability to work within a fast-paced processing environment
