Farm Attendant – Marine Projects

Join Huon's Marine Projects team as a Casual Farm Attendant and help build and maintain the infrastructure that supports one of Australia's leading aquaculture businesses.

If you enjoy practical outdoor work, operating machinery and working as part of a close-knit team, this is an opportunity to be involved in a variety of marine projects while enjoying the flexibility of casual employment.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Marine Projects Manager, you'll support the delivery of infrastructure projects across our marine farming operations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Operating large plant and equipment on marine farm infrastructure.
• Using high-pressure equipment and a range of power and hand tools.
• Assisting our Plastic Welders with HDPE butt, electrofusion and extrusion welding.
• Supporting the installation and maintenance of marine infrastructure.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment.
• Assisting with a variety of marine projects as required.

This casual position is based at our Pilings site near Port Huon. Work is offered as required, usually operating at either a 4/3 roster or a 7/7 roster.

About you

You're someone who enjoys working outdoors, isn't afraid of hard work and takes pride in getting the job done safely.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Experience operating machinery in a high-risk environment, such as JCBs, wheel loaders, forklifts, chainsaws or welding equipment (desirable).
• A genuine enjoyment of working on or around the water.
• A strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Well-developed communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
• Experience in aquaculture, marine farming or a similar industry (desirable).
• A Coxswain's ticket (desirable but not essential).
• Flexibility to travel to other Huon farm sites when required.
