FARM ATTENDANT – HARVEST – 7 DAYS ON/7 DAYS OFF
Join our team as a Farm Attendant and play an important role in harvesting premium Tasmanian salmon. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, being part of a close-knit team and contributing to safe, efficient and high-quality operations. With a 7 days on, 7 days off roster and accommodation provided while on shift, you'll enjoy a great work-life balance while building your aquaculture skills.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Farm Attendant, you'll support the nightly harvest of salmon and assist with a range of farm operations while maintaining high standards of fish welfare, safety and biosecurity.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the nightly harvest operation to ensure fish are handled with minimal stress.
- Monitoring fish behaviour and welfare throughout harvesting activities.
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene, biosecurity and workplace safety.
- Supporting farm operations and contributing to a productive team environment.
- Participating in general farm maintenance and clean-up activities.
- Assisting other marine operational teams as required across the farm.
This role operates on a 7 days on, 7 days off roster, with shifts including:
- Friday: daytime hours - Farm maintenance and clean-up activities.
- Saturday: daytime hours - Operational support across the farm and on-water activities.
- Sunday to Thursday: night time hours - Nightly harvest operations.
Accommodation is provided while on roster, allowing you to focus on the job and enjoy a unique experience working in Tasmania's aquaculture industry.
ABOUT YOU:
We're looking for a reliable and adaptable team member who enjoys physical, hands-on work in an outdoor environment.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- A strong commitment to safety, fish welfare and biosecurity practices.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to assist across different areas of farm operations.
- Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
- The ability to work a rotating roster, including night shifts and extended hours.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks in varying weather conditions.
- Previous experience in aquaculture, agriculture, maritime operations or other outdoor industries will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
