Huon is Australia’s leading producers of premium, sustainably farmed Tasmanian salmon, with processing facilities in Tasmania and NSW.
We’re looking for an experienced Parts Coordinator to join our team at our state-of-the-art Parramatta Creek processing facility, around 20 minutes from Devonport.
Working closely with our Maintenance and Engineering teams, you’ll source and manage the specialist parts, critical spares and components needed to keep our fixed plant and automated production lines performing at their best.
What you’ll be doing…
You’ll join Huon at an exciting time, supporting our maintenance teams and brand-new, state-of-the-art processing equipment and technology.
This is a great opportunity to take ownership of a critical function supporting two busy processing facilities while working closely with experienced Maintenance and Engineering teams.
- Source parts for preventative, planned and breakdown maintenance.
- Manage suppliers, pricing, purchasing and delivery of parts and materials.
- Raise purchase orders and ensure goods are received and recorded accurately.
- Manage inventory, stock levels and critical spare holdings across both processing sites.
- Issue parts and complete regular stock reconciliations.
- Work with Maintenance Site Leads to understand upcoming maintenance schedules and ensure required parts are available.
- Identify opportunities to improve stock management and deliver cost efficiencies.
- Ensure parts are sourced and stored in line with GMP, hygiene, food safety and site requirements.
- Maintain accurate information within maintenance and inventory systems.
About you…
You’ll be organised, technically minded and comfortable working closely with trades, maintenance teams and suppliers.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- A trade background and/or relevant maintenance, engineering or technical parts experience.
- Experience sourcing parts and components for fixed plant, production or manufacturing equipment.
- Strong inventory and stock control experience.
- An understanding of preventative maintenance and the importance of critical spares.
- Experience within food processing, FMCG, manufacturing or another fixed-plant environment.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
- Experience using CMMS or maintenance management systems – MEX experience is highly regarded.
- Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
- A practical approach to problem solving and a strong commitment to safety.
